Very Quick Start(TM) GETTING STARTED IN MICROBIOLOGY FOR MICROSYSTEMS COURSE Dr. Ted Dellin 4-Hour Narrated E Learning Course This introductory course provides a simple introduction to microbiology. Microbiology is important in itself and also is an important application area for microsystems. The course consists of 10 modules as shown below. The course first considers the cell. It then goes on to consider the two types of macromolecules that play a central role in the cell: Proteins and DNA. Next the "Central Dogma" of how the cell goes from genes in DNA to making a protein are considered. The course goes on to consider the techniques for cutting, pasting and reading DNA. The last part of the course consists of a number of examples of biotechnology.
